Botulinum toxin is a muscle relaxant which helps to reduce mimic wrinkles or even make them disappear completely. The shelf life can vary individually between 6 weeks and 6 months! Botulinum toxin blocks the receptors on the muscle cells for this time, which is why they cannot be actively moved temporarily. If the effect wears off again and the receptors are renewed, the muscles can be activated again.
The effect is 100% reversible! Nerve or muscle damage is not left behind under any circumstances.

Scuptra® is not a pure filler material, like hyaluron fillers, but leads to an increase in the body’s own collagen. This increase in volume can last for several years. It is important to know that a single treatment is often not sufficient, but a treatment series of 2-4 treatments. After treatment with Sculptra® we recommend avoiding sauna, solarium, sunbathing and sports for about 2 weeks. It is especially important that you massage the treated areas approx. 3-4 times a day for 5 minutes for the next 5 days after the Sculptra® undercutting.

The fat-away injection is based on the active ingredient phosphatidylcholine – a lecithin from the soybean. During the treatment, the active ingredient is injected locally into the excess fat deposits, causing the fat cells to dissolve. The waste products are subsequently broken down by the body. It is important to avoid the following on the day of treatment and for 24-48 hours afterwards:
- Sport
- Sauna
- Solarium, sunbathing
- Coffee and alcohol consumption
Afterwards you are fit for everyday life again.
Slight swelling and redness are normal. Rarely, an allergic reaction or a small bruise may occur. Taking blood thinners or aspirin may increase the development of bruising. We therefore advise you to avoid aspirin for at least 1 week before the treatment, if medically justifiable. Especially when treating around the eye area, there may be a temporary drooping of the upper eyelid. Mild headaches may occur during the treatment of frown lines or forehead wrinkles. The effect of botuilinum toxin is 100% reversible, and so are the side effects.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women and patients with a nerve or muscle condition must not be treated with botulinum toxin.
Botulinum toxin acts on muscle tissue, which is why only mimic wrinkles can be treated. So-called static wrinkles – wrinkles that are there even without facial expressions – show only a minor effect. However, these wrinkles appear softer on the surface of the skin over time.
Typical areas for botulinum toxin treatment are:
- Forehead wrinkles
- Frown lines
- Crow’s feet
- Gummy smile
- Dimpled chin
- etc.
It takes 24-48 hours for the hyaluronic acid to settle. Therefore, it is important to avoid physical exertion, sauna, solarium and direct sunlight during this period. Drink plenty of water and refrain from excessive coffee consumption for best results.
In rare cases, allergic reactions to hyaluron or the carrier substances in the product may occur. Since most products contain lidocaine (anesthetic), intolerance may also occur. In very rare cases, vascular occlusion may occur due to hyaluron. Therefore, for your safety, we always have an emergency kit ready in our practice.
Swelling, redness and bruising are absolutely normal and usually subside after a few days. Our lips in particular react with swelling and bruising is most likely to be visible here. Cooling and the application of a heparin ointment (e.g. Lyman®️ 50 000 Emgel) helps here to make the bruises heal faster.
Some patients develop small nodules in the lips. Your doctor will show you special massage techniques that you should perform at home during the first days after a treatment to prevent or even make minor nodules and bumps disappear. In the extreme case, the nodules can also be dissolved with Hylase®️.
It depends here on the treated area, age, lifestyle, smoking status, etc. We use only quality products that last between 9 -18 months and sometimes even beyond.
