What is Mounjaro®?
Mounjaro® is a modern drug with the active ingredient tirzepatide, originally developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and now used specifically for weight reduction.
Tirzepatide is a so-called dual GLP-1/GIP receptor agonist. It acts on the satiety center in the brain, delays gastric emptying and thus leads to a longer feeling of satiety and a significantly reduced feeling of hunger.

Who is Mounjaro® suitable for?
- BMI ≥ 30 kg/m² (obesity)
- BMI ≥ 27 kg/m² with comorbidities such as high blood pressure, insulin resistance, sleep apnea, joint problems or lipedema
- Chronic obesity despite diet and exercise
- Eating control problems, emotional eating or strong feelings of hunger
Mounjaro® is not suitable for use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, certain gastrointestinal diseases or untreated hormonal disorders. This will be carefully clarified by a doctor in advance.
